“I’d love to eventually work with him one day” – Dominik Mysterio on facing Chris Benoit’s son David in the future one day.
Rey Mysterio and Chris Benoit were two of the most well known names during the Ruthless Aggression era. They were two talented fan favourites who helped dispel the notion that only giants could succeed in the WWE by becoming World Champions.

Rey’s son Dominik has followed in his father’s footsteps and is now in the WWE. He is currently involved in a storyline featuring Seth Rollins as the antagonist. In fact, his first match in the WWE was against the Messiah at SummerSlam this year!
David Benoit, on the other hand, hasn’t had much of that success. He has trained to be a wrestler. However, he is yet to step into the ring. Although he hasn’t given up on the dream yet.

“I’d love that,” Dominik said in his interview with Chris van Vliet. “I think that in itself is a historic generational match because that’s so cool. I haven’t talked to David in a while, but we’ve communicated when I was at Storm’s because, I believe, he lives in Edmonton and that’s a three-hour drive from Calgary.
“So, we communicated and we’ve talked before, and I would like to say we were good friends back in the day because our parents would always take us out to dinner together. We would go to eat at Rainforest Cafe and go to Dinosaur Museums together. So it was really cool, and I’d love to eventually work with him one day.”
Considering WWE’s treatment of Chris Benoit, it is unlikely that David will ever be signed in the WWE. Which is a shame because no son should be forced to carry the sins of his father. This also means that the chance for this match to take place is close to none unless they meet in a different promotion.
