John Cena & Nikki Bella

Nikki Bella congratulates ex-fiancé, John Cena on his wedding. The two dated from 2012 before splitting up in 2018.

John Cena and Nikki Bella were once the power couple in the WWE. They were engaged to be married. However, the couple split up after realising that they wanted different things in life. Nikki has since got engaged with Artem Chigvintsev while Cena quietly married Shay Shariatzadeh.

The former Divas Champion was asked if she congratulated Cena on his wedding during her appearance on the December 1, episode of the “All Things Vanderpump” podcast. Nikki responded in the negative before asking if there were rules regarding something situations like those.

“I haven’t … but yeah, I didn’t,” Nikki replied. “Are there rules? Am I supposed to? Should I send flowers?”

Brie Bella chimed in and said that she hadn’t done the same for her ex either.

“We were done for so long that I didn’t congratulate him, but he didn’t congratulate me [when I married Daniel],” Brie shared.

Nikki then took the opportunity to send her best wishes towards John Cena’s way.

“John, congratulations on your wedding,” said The Total Bellas star. “I’m very, very happy for you.”

Later in the show she also explained why things didn’t work out between the two.

“I really wanted to be a mom and he didn’t want to be a father. But then in the end, he was like, ‘Look, I will give you a kid,’ but I knew deep down in his heart it’s not what he wanted,” she explained. “And I was so afraid that years down the road, he would just have regrets and resent me for making him a father.”

Nikki is the mother of 4-month old Matteo with fiancé Artem Chigvintsev. The two got engaged last year in November. They welcomed their son this July. The Bella twins revealed that Cena had reached out to them when they gave birth.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
