Kofi Kingston lavishes praise on RAW Superstar

Kofi Kingston lavishes praise on RAW Superstar. The former WWE Champion also discussed his real life heat with his fellow wrestler.

Kofi Kingston has had his battes with Randy Orton in the past, both on screen and off it. In a conversation with the Daily Star, the former WWE Champion admitted was one of those guys who didn’t want him to succeed in the past.

“On a very legitimate level, those who have been watching the videos about our history, it’s very legitimate in the fact that he did not want me to be here to the point where he would tell people who made decisions that I shouldn’t be in the position that I was at.”

In the very same interview Kingston spoke about how Orton had changed and now commands the respect of the locker room. He praised him as already being hall of fame worthy before joking that he wouldn’t say the same to his face because the Viper wouldn’t let him live it down.

“Now he’s the guy who has the most experience on the roster. I can’t think of anyone currently has more experience than him, so you have to respect that. He has the respect of a lot of people in a lot of different ways. He’s changed in a lot of ways, too, and I think you see that personal growth. In my mind he is already a Hall of Famer. I would never tell any of this to him as he’d never let me live any of it down! So he’ll never hear that come out of my mouth. But I can’t sit here and lie to you and say he’s not up there because he definitely is.”

“He looks a certain way, he flexes in a certain way… you feel that. That’s the stuff that makes you great and not just good. What Randy does is unique in that way – he does so much without doing anything at all, so I’d have to put him in the conversation as being one of the greatest.”

“To be able to last so long… he’s even more compelling now in a lot of different ways. So as a performer, you can’t have the conversation [about the greatest] without having Randy be in there, from the longevity alone. That doesn’t happen by accident.”

Kingston is scheduled to take on Drew McIntyre next week on Monday Night RAW. The winner gets a shot at Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship.

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
