Karrion Kross Relinquishes NXT title

Karrion Kross relinquishes NXT Championship. He had only recently won the title last Saturday at WWE NXT TakeOver XXX.

Karrion Kross’ title run has come to an abrupt end following the injury he suffered during his match against Keith Lee at TakeOver XXX. Kross came out the victor and won his first NXT Championship. Unfortunately, he also suffered a separated shoulder during the win.

Kross downplayed the injury and sounded rather optimistic. However, the worst came to pass and the newly crowned champion had to relinquish the title he had just won. He opened NXT along with Scarlett Bordeaux and made the announcement.

Kross came out to the ring wearing a suit and a sling. Accompanied by Scarlett, he announced that he wouldn’t be allowed to defend the title in his condition. He then issued a warning that Doomsday is still coming to NXT because no matter when the time is told, everybody pays the toll, and God help the obstacles that will be in his path.

Scarlett then placed an hourglass next to the NXT title before they made their way backstage.

Fightful select, who correctly reported that Kross would relinquish the title, also reported that the most popular idea backstage is to have a four-way match to determine the next NXT Champion. This would immediately prove to be accurate as well.

As far as Kross and his injury goes, he was set to undergo a MRI this past Monday but there’s no word yet on what doctors found.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
