Kenny Omega takes a shot at Vince McMahon and WWE

AEW Star and Tag Team Champion Kenny Omega took a swipe at Vince McMahon and the working environment in the WWE.

A story revolving around Kota Ibushi’s brief time at the WWE recently made its way on the internet. Ibushi, who was part of the Cruiserweight classic, impressed during the tournament. He was rewarded with a developmental contract.

However, at NXT TakeOver Dallas, Ibushi apparently high-fived Vince McMahon without knowing who the WWE Chairman was. This according to the story shared, made the staff really upset.

Ibushi has since revealed that he was offered a full-time contract with the WWE but turned it down.

AEW Executive Vice President and Ibushi’s former tag team partner Kenny Omega has since weighed in on the story. Not missing a chance to take a swipe at the work culture in the rival promotion, Omega tweeted:

“Hard to believe, but yeah, some of the most talented wrestlers in the world aren’t constantly walking on eggshells and scared s–tless of their boss.”

It is no secret that Vince McMahon is an enigma of a man. He has built several careers and churned many stars, some of whom have even made it in Hollywood. On the other hand, it doesn’t take much for the man to bury a rising star into oblivion.

Many wrestlers have spoken on how hard it was dealing with McMahon, describing him as an egomaniac with the stubbornness and pettiness of a child scorned. The fact, that several staff members were upset at Ibushi not recognising Vince, is proof of how many around him are constantly on the edge.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
