Matt Riddle was not too interested in renewing WWE contract

Matt Riddle was not too interested in renewing WWE contract. He did eventually put pen to paper and is signed for the next three years.

Matt Riddle has signed a new contract with the WWE. The details of the contract were first revealed in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter edition. It has since emerged that Riddle wasn’t too keen or in a hurry when presented with the new contract first.

Figthful Select have reported that Matt Riddle was not too interested in renewing his WWE contract when it was first offered. However, the WWE changed a few terms of the deal and hoped that Riddle would sign it before the end of 2020.

According to the reports above, Riddle will make $400,000 per year. He will make $1.2 million in the next three years and an additional $50,000 for every show he does in Saudi Arabia. Riddle signed the new contract last week.

Riddle joined the WWE main roster this year, beating AJ Styles on his debut. His character seemed to be floundering early on in his career. However, he seems to be finding his groove now. It also helps that Vince reportedly likes his character even if he doesn’t understand it.

He is currently in a tag team with Jeff Hardy named ‘Hardy Bros’. The former NXT Tag Team Champion could very well have the same accolade in the main roster but could 2021 bring single’s glory? Only time will tell and at 34, Riddle has plenty of that.

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
