Roman Reigns reveals the real reason why he hasn’t appeared on WWE

Roman Reigns reveals the real reason why he hasn’t appeared on WWE. He hasn’t been seen since the outbreak of the coronavirus.

2020 looked like it was going to be Roman Reigns’ year. He was scheduled to face Goldberg at the Wrestlemania for the WWE Universal Championship. However, he chose to sit out of the biggest pay per view of the year and his spot was given to Braun Strowman instead.

At the time many believed that Reigns opted for what he did due to his fear of the coronavirus; considering he had just undergone a battle with a recurring Leukaemia. The former Universal Champion however, has now revealed that the decision had more to do with his family than himself.

Roman Reigns reveals the real reason why he hasn’t appeared on WWE

The Big Dog told The Hindu, that while he trusted the WWE, his concern lay with his co-workers.

“The company has done everything that they can to make it the safest work environment possible,” he said. “It is not the workplace that I was necessarily concerned about.

“The decision was taken mainly because each performer travels so much, and we are all such a diverse group and from all over the place. I’m not convinced, and I can’t trust the fact that everybody is taking it as seriously and locking themselves down at home like I am. I trust my life with my co-workers every time I step foot in the ring, but I just can’t put the same trust when it has my children, my wife and my family involved.

“But I don’t want it to come off as I am taking a stand against the company at all, because I love the WWE. I’ve been a part of this company just since I was a little boy. That’s why I always take it so personally when I represent them.”

With reports of several WWE employees testing positive for the deadly virus, Reigns’ decision has been justified in hindsight. He has spoken of his desire to return to the WWE. However, there is no word still on when that might be. Considering his previous choices and the current circumstance, it may not be very soon.

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
