Sonya Deville’s career seemed to be on an upward trajectory last year. She was part of a long term storyline with friend turned foe Mandy Rose. Their feud went past Wrestlemania and finally concluded at last year’s SummerSlam Pay per view.

Sonya Deville finally made her WWE comeback on tonight’s episode of SmackDown. The former Absolution member did not do much except walk while everyone backstage stared at her.

The stipulation for Deville’s match with Rose was changed from hair vs hair to loser leaves because Deville had become a victim to an attempted kidnapping in her personal life. Deville was in need of a time off and this was WWE finding a way to give it to her.

There were concerns among fans that she may never step into a WWE ring again in the aftermath of the terrifying experience. However, she has come back and that is good news for everybody. Just one day into the new year and 2021 is already proving to be better than last year.

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
