Owen Hart and Lex Luger once fleed the arena after playing a prank on the Undertaker. The Deadman is known to despise cucumbers.

The Undertaker is an intense person both in and out of the ring. It is hard to fathom anyone considering pranking him but that is exactly what Owen Hart did. The late wrestler was notorious for playing pranks on his colleagues and the Undertaker happened to be one of his victims.

While speaking on Sean Waltman’s Pro Wrestling 4 Life podcast, Lex Luger divulged the details of when Hart rubbed a cucumber on the Undertaker’s face during their match. The Undertaker is not too fond of the vegetable and did not take kindly to the act which resulted in both wrestlers running out of the Arena before he got to them.

“Taker hates [cucumbers], it’s like Superman’s kryptonite. Owen got a rear chin lock on him right before we went home [end of the match] and rubbed that cucumber all in ‘Taker’s face and nose. ‘Taker was so ticked off. We ran from the ring, back to the car, I was so mad at Owen again. I go, ‘Taker’s gonna kill us!’

“We ran back to the car and scurried back to the hotel before ‘Taker because he was the babyface and they won the match. So Owen had all the stuff, we get to the car into the parking lot before ‘Taker got to the back because he was gonna come kick both our butts!”

The Undertaker has previously spoken on his irrational hatred of cucumber. On Pardon My Take podcast, the WWE legend clarified that he wasn’t scared of cucumbers, he just didn’t like them. Although he didn’t explain why.

“Okay, let’s get this straight… I’m not scared of cucumbers. I just don’t like cucumbers, okay? But, what would happen if someone brought one in at that moment? I’ll probably leave the room, but I’m not gonna run… If they’re whole, that’s one thing. But if they’re cut up…”

According to his former manager, the late Paul Bearer, the hatred stems from a childhood memory. He said the following to Jim Cornette back in 2013:

“He cannot stand cucumbers … I saw The Undertaker throw up all over a waffle house because there was a cucumber floating in his iced tea… It was something to do with when he was a kid … I guess his mother made him eat them when he didn’t want them, or something. He just hates cucumbers.”
