WWE World Heavyweight Tournament

There were reports that WWE’s Chief Content Officer Paul Levesque would make a huge announcement on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. However, little did anyone know that the news would be as massive as it was. During the April 24 RAW, Triple H declared the return of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The company will crown a new World Heavyweight Champion at next month’s Night of Champions pay-per-view.

The rumors of WWE introducing a new title have been going around for months. As a matter of fact, some dirt sheets suggested Triple H could bring back the old World Heavyweight Championship. Well, the reports have indeed come true and WWE fans can’t control their joy.

WWE fans hail Triple H for reintroducing the World Heavyweight Championship

As soon as Triple H made the announcement on RAW, WWE fans stormed social media with posts. Talking to Twitter, many of them appreciated the decision to bring back the legendary design with some changes.

There were some fans who wanted Seth Rollins to be the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. On the other hand, The American Nightmare was also an obvious choice for some.

After a long wait, it seems WWE will finally have a world champion for each brand. Though, there are concerns about where the new belt will end up staying.

On which brand will the newly announced world championship stay?

Before introducing the new WWE World Heavyweight Championship, Triple H talked about Roman Reigns. The Game noted that The Tribal Chief is on his way to completing 1000 days as a champion. He further went on to mention how Roman’s contract keeps him free from defending the title very often.

Therefore, a new champion will be crowned at the Night of Champions pay-per-view next month. The event is scheduled to take place on 27 May 2023, live from the Super Dome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. According to The Game, the new champion will defend his title anytime, anyplace, anywhere around the world.

As to where the new WWE World Heavyweight Championship will stay, Triple H stated after the draft, Roman’s Undisputed Title will stay on one brand and the other one will get the new title. Though, nothing was said about how the new champion is going to be crowned.
