Booker T claims The Rock stole a number of his catchphrases

Booker T claims The Rock stole a number of his legendary famous catchphrases from him and even revealed what one of them may have been.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is one of the most popular stars to have graced this planet. He may be known as a Hollywood big shot these days. However, he first earned his name in the WWE by making the fans fall in love with his mannerisms and catchphrases.

It seems however, that not everything the Rock had in his arsenal back then was truly his own. In an interview with Chris Van Vliet, former WWE Superstar Booker T revealed that the Great One may have borrowed a few of his famous lines from him.

“I had [the Book End] first. I’m not gonna sit here and go back and forth whether it’s disputed or not. I was the first one to do the Book End,” Booker T revealed. “I didn’t call it the Book End, then The Rock stole it just like The Rock stole a bunch of my catchphrases. I’m serious. He really did.”

When asked what those catchphrases were, Booker T refused to comment. He said that there was an unwritten rule about letting such stories remain untold. The former World Heavyweight Champion did however later say: “if you smell what I’m cooking.”

The Rock went on to have a legendary career in the WWE; 10-time World Champion in the WWE and multiple Mania main events. Booker T himself did very well. A very popular World Title reign and WrestleMania headlining act even earned him a Hall of Fame induction back in 2013.

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
