Vince McMahon Backlash 2023

Ex-WWE CEO Vince McMahon has been laying low ever since he announced his retirement earlier this year in July. Other than a couple of public appearances, fans haven’t seen the 77-year-old anywhere. In fact, since July, even WWE has not mentioned him on live TV in any capacity. However, during the recent episode of WWE NXT, Booker T namedropped Vince McMahon while commentating on the show.

Mr. McMahon, who ruled the pro wrestling world for more than four decades, left the business under unfavorable circumstances. The ex-WWE CEO was caught up in a big controversy where he was accused of paying millions to cover his multiple sexual misconducts.

In fact, things got so ugly that Vince eventually had to retire. Since then, WWE has avoided taking its ex-CEO’s name on live tv. However, it seems the company made an exception during NXT’s recent edition.

WWE namedropped Vince McMahon as one of the all-time great bookers

Hall of Famer Road Dogg recently revealed that Mr. McMahon never saw NXT as a third. Instead, the former CEO thought the show was more of a developmental division. Well, little did he know that after his exit, NXT will be the first show to mention him.

For the first time since his retirement, the former chairman’s name was mentioned on the recent episode of NXT. The show saw Booker T recalling his former boss while commentating. The WWE Hall of Famer namedropped Vince McMahon calling him one of the greatest bookers of all time.

Well, as soon as Booker T namedropped Vince McMahon, WWE fans couldn’t resist sharing that on social media. A lot of them took to Twitter and expressed their feelings.

The Ex-WWE CEO was glimpsed having dinner with a mystery woman last month

After announcing his retirement, WWE fans have seen Vince McMahon only a couple of times in the public sphere. First, he was spotted enjoying his birthday alongside John Cena, Pat McAfee, and an unknown lady. And then last month, a fan clicked a picture of him having dinner with the same young lady.

Nevertheless, it appears the biggest man in pro wrestling history is having a good time away from the gorilla position. And considering how WWE has rarely namedropped Vince McMahon since his exit, it is unlikely he will return anytime soon.

However, he could make an appearance if the company ever decides to induct him into the Hall of Fame.
