Sasha Banks told Vince McMahon that she wants to leave the WWE. The Boss is the reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion.
2020 was definitely the best year in the WWE for Sasha Banks. She won all available main roster women’s champion, the first to do so in a single year. In the process she became only the third Women’s Grand Slam Champion. The Boss also successfully defended a singles title on the main roster and finally racked a win at hell in a cell.

2021 is also going swimmingly for her. Considering how far she’s come, it’s hard to remember that there once was a time when she was floundering in the mid card. There seemed to be no creative direction for her and at that point, banks contemplated quitting WWE.
Sasha Banks told Vince McMahon that she wants to leave the WWE
In a sneak peak from Stone Cold Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions episode featuring Sasha Banks, the Boss revealed that she had indeed asked for her release from the WWE but Vince McMahon declined. Instead, he suggested her to take some time and think it over.
“One of the hardest things that I had to do was to ask to leave the WWE….Vince was like no. He said no. He said I’m gonna give you thirty days to think about it,, and I took more than thirty days . . . This place can definitely get to you. It’s hard”

This is probably after Wrestlemania 35 where she and Bayley lost the Tag team Titles. The Boss was not seen in the WWE for quite some time before she returned with a new look and immediately turned heel.
Losing Banks would have been a massive blow for the WWE. The company boasts of having some of the best women wrestlers on American soil and the Boss is integral to that claim. Knowing what we know now, the decision to stay has worked out very well for her as well.
Sports Illustrated recently named her the Wrestler of the year 2020 regardless of gender because of her fantastic work and off the ring especially during unprecedented times.
Banks is scheduled to partner Bianca Belair against Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler for the Women’s tag team championship.
