Triple H discusses John Cena becoming a WWE part timer after criticizing The Rock for doing the same years ago during their feud.

John Cena and the Rock embarked in a feud that begun at Wrestlemania 27. The Brahma bull interfered in Cena’s match against the Miz before setting up Wrestlemania 28’s main event next day on RAW; a whole year in advance!

Cena would often criticize The Rock for leaving the WWE during the build up to their match. He would constantly bring up the Rock’s part time status. Ironically, Cena is a part timer in the WWE himself. However, Triple H believes that the Babe Ruth of WWE has done enough to earn that status.

“You find yourself when you’re in the thick of it being that guy that says, ‘I’m here everyday. This is my house and my place,’ but then you get to where John Cena is,” Triple H said on The Michael Kay Show. “You get to where The Rock is. You get to where Taker is or [Ric] Flair or anybody else where you’ve earned the right with fans to come back every now and then and tip your cap and for them to say, ‘man, thank you for all of that’ and for you to re-live those moments.

“John has earned that. Whether he spoke badly about it in the past and meant it, or whether he didn’t, he earned that right. He’s earned that right to pick his spots.

John Cena’s last appearance in the WWE was on last year’s Wrestlemania where he fought Bray Wyatt. Cena is yet to appear on WWE programming since, However, he has done a voiceover for them and recently appeared on a video revealing the locations and dates of the next three Wrestlemania.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
