General manager William Regal introduces New Titles, Innaugral Champions and Historic TakeOver in Groundbreaking announcement on WWE NXT.

Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez won the innaugral Dusty Rhodes Tag team classic. This granted them the opportunity to become the first ever team from NXT to hold the Women’s Tag Team titles. However, a controversial finish ensured that Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler left the Black and Gold Brand, still the tag team champions.

NXT moving to Tuesdays? New Tag Titles or a Two day TakeOver? Well, two of them were right on the money.

The show opened tonight with Regal introducing NXT’s own Tag team Championships. He then awarded them to Kai and Gonzalez for winning the Dusty Rhodes Classic last month.

He also announced the first ever two day TakeOver as well. NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver, will take place on April 7th and 8th, Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.

Triple H, naturally, reacted to both the developments. Here’s what he said about the NXT Women’s Tag team titles:

“For a women’s division that cannot be stopped, that every night stands and delivers… I cannot wait to see the matches for these titles… STARTING TONIGHT!!!!”

He also spoke about the upcoming TakeOver.

“What started at Arrival … … grew to take over. And NOW #WWENXT will Stand & Deliver over TWO NIGHTS April 7 and 8th.”

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
