Storm announced her intention of winning the NXT Women’s Championship since moving from NXT UK. She declared last month that she would be the next woman’s champion much to Shirai’s displeasure. She made her feelings known soon after.
Martinez is another who has become a thorn at Shirai’s side. She returned last month by attacking Shirai while also announcing her intention to capture the gold.
Martinez and Storm would join hands to take part in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. However, they were eliminated by Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter in the first round after Shirai attacked Martinez during the match.
The three women took part in a brawl on this week’s episode of NXT with Storm standing tall with the title in her hands.
Interestingly, her reign began with a triple threat match. Could Shirai lose her title in the same manner she won it? We’re going to have to wait and find out.
