In 2020, Vince McMahon banned all his superstars from using third-party platforms. Because of that, WWE stars couldn’t make money by live-streaming on platforms like Twitch. Names like Zelina Vega opposed the decision, only to be released from the company soon after. However, times have changed as WWE and Twitch recently signed a new deal. And according to reports, the agreement is going to be a profitable one for the wrestlers.

Last year in April, WWE, alongside its talents, held a meeting backstage to discuss the matter. Superstars were assured that a solution would be found where they could generate some extra income through third-party platforms. Even though it took over a year, it seems the issue has finally been sorted out.

The new WWE Twitch deal will allow wrestlers to earn via live streaming once again

According to Fightful Select, WWE and Twitch have signed a new deal where wrestlers will now be allowed to live stream again. As a matter of fact, the new arrangement allows superstars to do so with almost no restrictions. By almost, means, WWE wrestlers will not be allowed to collaborate with stars of other promotions.

The report further discussed how the whole revenue will be divided between WWE, Twitch, and Wrestlers. According to Fightful, the earnings from live streaming will be split three-way. Thanks to the new deal, the majority of the revenue from will go to Twitch and WWE superstars.

Fightful’s report also shed light on the talents’ response towards the new arrangement. It was asserted that wrestlers, in general, are happy with the whole situation.

Why is the new agreement believed to be a profitable one for WWE superstars?

Andrew Zarian, through a recent Twitter post, has provided some more details about the new WWE Twitch deal. According to the source he spoke to, the agreement is more beneficial for the wrestlers.

The report claimed WWE executives have asked Twitch to give a larger cut to the wrestlers. In fact, the amount WWE superstars will receive now is more than the other creators on the platform. Zarian claimed the new deal was described to him as a “Very Talent-Friendly” one.

Nevertheless, amid Vince McMahon returning to power, the new WWE Twitch deal will be a relief for superstars. Earning some extra money will be a good thing, especially for those who are not being featured on TV regularly.
