WWE Superstar Bayley out for 9 months after freak injury during training

WWE Superstar Bayley out for 9 months after freak injury during training. The role model was scheduled to face Bianca Belair at Money in the Bank.

Bayley was supposed to take on Bianca Belair in an ‘I Quit’ match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Money in the Bank. Unfortunately, the Role Model will no longer be a part of that match. WWE have confirmed that Bayley will be out of action for up to nine months following an injury.

The WWE hasn’t made public the reason or nature  of the injury. However, According to PWInsider and Fightful Select she has suffered a torn ACL. It was noted that Bayley’s “knee popped” while training in the ring.

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp also reported that she picked up the injury during mandatory “return to the road” training session. Bayley was reportedly chain wrestling with a fellow superstar and the injury was a result of a freak accident.

The WWE will announce a replacement for Bayley later on tonight’s episode of SmackDown. It will be interesting to see who steps up. There are not a lot of women in SmackDown. They also still need to announce two more names for the Money in the Bank ladder match.

Going back to Bayley, this must be devastating for the former Women’s champion. She was the SmackDown Women’s Champion for much of the pandemic and worked overtime alongside Sasha Banks at a time when the company needed someone to step up.

She would then go on to miss out on the Wrestlemania card despite being healthy and now with the WWE so close to going back on the road again, she misses out once again. Hopefully, this only motivates her even more to aim for the stars when she does make her WWE return.

Two wrestlers on the SmackDown roster were said to be openly frustrated with WWE’s lack of depth, following the injury. One wrestler even claimed that company officials “did it to themselves.”

They also spoke about how Bayley carried the company during some of their most difficult times recently, and was known to be easy to deal with, no matter how much more they asked of her.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all.
