Kofi Kingston offers advice to younger talent discouraged with their storylines

Kofi Kingston offers advice to younger talent discouraged with their storylines or frustrated with the direction their career seems to be heading.

The WWE is filled to the brim with talent. Almost every worker on their roster today has the potential to be a world champion. However, that is not possible. This means that most of them are stuck in an unsatisfying storyline, that is if they are even presented on TV.

New Day’s Kofi Kingston recognised the issue during his appearance on the Busted Open podcast. He spoke about the frustrations seeing your career not progress the way you want it to. Kofi also preached the need for patience in order to eventually achieve your goals.

“I look around there are so many young guys, new guys and I find myself talking to a lot of them who are discouraged a lot of the times with like where they are with their storylines or their careers, and they feel like they’re so good.

“Everyone is so talented on the roster right now. Everyone wants to be at the top of the mountain, and to the point where you know, some people might think, “I’m not gonna do this! I’m just gonna go and say I don’t wanna do this.

“ So I’m like, “Well…don’t take yourself out of the game! There’s a lot of reasons that like people will find to take you out of the game, but you don’t be the one to take yourself out. Just hang around man, hang around and keep on working.”

Kofi is likely speaking from experience. He spent years in the WWE without knowing if he was ever going to scale the summit until one fine day Kofimania happened and not only did he become WWE Champion but he did it at Wrestlemania of all places!

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
