WWE Rumors: The real reason why Vince McMahon is pushing Baron Corbin heavily on WWE and positioning him as their top heel character.
Baron Corbin is currently the no.1 contender to Seth Rollins’ Universal Championship. He has had two matches for Raw’s top title and is scheduled to face him once again with the title on the line.

Corbin main evented Stomping Grounds with Seth Rollins and is likely going to main event Extreme Rules too with Lacey by his side, who is also looking to prise the Raw women’s championship from Becky’s stronghold.
This is quite a turn from his Smackdown days when he was constantly overlooked in the card. He even won the 2017 Money in the bank briefcase just to lose his WWE championship match to Jinder Mahal in an embarrassing fashion.
People assumed that Corbin would get lost in the shuffle when he moved to Raw in 2018. The Red brand’s roster was stacked and it looked like Corbin would struggle to stand out from the more flamboyant and popular characters.
However, not only has Corbin managed to stand out but he is now positioned as the top heel of the company and it all started with him doing Stephanie McMahon’s dirty business as her constable. Since then Corbin has featured heavily in WWE television and has now become one of the mainstays on Raw.
Baron Corbin is a Ladies Man
Dave Meltzer has recently revealed on the Wrestling Observer Radio, that the reason behind the heavy push for the man who retired Kurt Angle at Wrestlemania is that Vince McMahon believes that “Women swoon over him”.
As strange as it sounds, that is the reason suggested behind the manner in which the company treats him. Some may agree with Vince and say that Corbin is indeed good looking, while others may say that he looks like a very tall thumb, but at the end of the day, only one man’s opinion matters. And if he sees marketability in someone or something, you best believe that he will do everything in his power to sell it. For Christ Sakes, the old man has still not given up on XFL yet.
Baron Corbin will partner Lacey Evans in a mixed tag match against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch at Extreme Rules with both the Universal and Raw women’s championships on the line. Extreme Rules will take place on July 14, 2019, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
