Triple H is a rather interesting figure in wrestling. While he is universally beloved by the talent and fans as a booker and promoter, it was not the same case during his days as a wrestler. Several former stars have openly spoken of their disdain of The Game. It is not surprising considering his reputation as a politicking backstage figure in the WWE, not many top stars have come forth and openly spoken about it. That is not the case with WWE Hall of Famer and former Universal Champion Goldberg, who was candid of his opinion regarding Triple H during his time in the WWE back in 2003.

Goldberg famously feuded with Triple H for the Big Gold, dubbed the World Heavyweight Championship. Goldberg went on to beat Triple H for the title before The Cerebral Assassin reclaimed the title to win the feud. Despite the success of the program, there was no love lost between them.
Goldberg once confessed that he didn’t like Triple H
During an interview on the WWE show Byte This back in 2003, Goldberg revealed what he actually thought of Triple H.
“The truth is I don’t like the guy and I enjoy wearing the belt that he so graciously called his own because, in reality, it was mine first.”
His comment can be seen as being made in kayfabe since this was when the two were feuding.
However, Goldberg also mentioned and compared the locker room atmosphere in WCW and WWE, which, those who actually followed backstage stories at the time know, was definitely a shoot.
The one big thing here [WWE] is that you’re not worried about one guy trying to one-up you, and that’s coming from a situation [WCW] where that was commonplace. And let me tell you, this is a definite breath of fresh air.”
Goldberg returned to WWE in 2016
Goldberg left the WWE after his match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, a year after the aforementioned interview. He finally returned to the WWE in 2016 and reignited his feud with Lesnar that began with a shockingly quick victory at Survivor Series that year.
They had a brief encounter at The Royal Rumble before Goldberg claimed the Universal title from Kevin Owens and defended it against Lesnar at WrestleMania.
Their explosive encounter ended the feud, with Lesnar claiming the Universal title for the first time. Goldberg has since become and on and off character, fighting every once in a while, mostly at the biggest shows of the year as a star attraction.
