John Cena is a certified pro wrestling legend and a sure-shot future WWE Hall of Famer. In fact, fans are well aware of his capabilities in the ring and on the silver screen. Well, that’s not it, the 16-time world champion is also a pro when it comes to drinking. In the past, former stars like Ryback have shared anecdotes where Cena showed he is a hooch hound. Now, another funny story has come to light where John Cena outdrank Chris Jericho as well.
Well, it’s no secret that John Cena has a huge drinking capacity as many of his fellow superstars will verify that. In fact, the proof can be found in Chris Jericho’s third book, The Best in the World: At What I Have No Idea. In his book, The Living legend shared his wild drinking experience with Mr. Hustle Loyalty Respect.
Chris Jericho claimed John Cena outdrank him and then tucked him into bed
The incident took place during one of WWE’s tours of Alaska in the mid-2000s. It was pretty cold so John Cena and Chris Jericho went to a bar to keep warm after the show. In the book, Chris Jericho shared how John Cena gave some marital advice to a troubled fan couple. After some counseling, Dr. John made them call off their impending divorce.
However, what happened after that is something the Lionheart will remember forever. Jericho recalled leaving the bar, opening the door of him, and immediately passing out. When he woke up after a few hours, he almost screamed after seeing a dark figure in the corner of his room.
Chris Jericho stated it was John Cena, still awake, drinking beer, and scrolling through his iPod. Recalling the whole incident, the former WWE superstar wrote:
“As my bloodshot eyes adjusted to the light, I realized the dark figure was John Cena, still drinking and scrolling through my iPod. In the ultimate show of drinking dominance, John had taken off my shoes, tucked me into bed, and was drinking MY beer while listening to MY tunes.”

Just like in drinking, it seems John Cena also has an upper hand over The Living Legend in the ring. In his time in WWE, Chris Jericho faced John Cena in fifteen one-on-one bouts. However, The Demo God managed to emerge victorious only once. Thus, it would not be wrong if Cena claims to have bragging rights over Jericho, both in and outside the ring.
Nevertheless, despite all the in-ring beef, it’s good to see Cena making his way into Jericho’s book for a funny reason. It shows both men are on good terms outside the squared circle. However, fans would love to see both legends having one more match in the WWE ring. Though considering their career paths right now, that seems very unlikely to happen.
