Dwayne Johnson & John Cena

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and John Cena are undeniably WWE’s top superstars, who ruled the roost during their heydays in their respective careers. Both superstars represent different eras of WWE. While The Rock was the front-runner of the Attitude Era, John Cena became the poster boy for the PG era. Both superstars are heavily compared because of their similar career trajectories. Although The Great One did not last as long as John Cena in the wrestling business due to his Hollywood aspirations, he was instrumental in his contribution to WWE during his short stint.

The Brahma Bull became a part-timer in 2002 as he embarked on his way to becoming a Hollywood actor. The Rock is a trailblazer for wrestlers today who are also acting hopefuls. Unlike The Rock, John Cena was tenacious with his career in the company for many years. Last year, in 2022, the leader of the Cenation celebrated his 20th anniversary with the company.

However, much like the Rock, Cena followed suit and became a Hollywood actor and makes rare appearances on WWE TV. Cena last competed on SmackDown’s last edition to cap off 2022. For years, WWE fans have drawn parallels between the two iconic superstars. One of the most striking similarities between the two is their height, though The Rock is billed 4 inches taller than Cena.

Is John Cena taller than Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson?

As wrestling fans, we are aware that the wrestling world is full of secrets. However, the advent of social media has caused kayfabe to become flimsy over the years. We are now privy to most of the secrets that were not intended to be known. One of those secrets is the exaggerated billed heights of the wrestlers.

Specifically, The Rock’s height is the most talked-about topic on the internet. When The People’s Champ made his debut in WWE, he was billed as 6 feet 5. Turns out that The Rock reportedly wore shoe lifts during his matches to have the advantage of looking big enough when he faced taller superstars.

Over the years, his billed height was debunked after he came face to face with other wrestlers who were introduced with a lower billed height. During The Rock’s epic rivalry with John Cena, the duo came face to face in a presser.

Surprisingly, John Cena appeared to be just half an inch shorter than the Great One. It’s worth noting that John Cena was billed as standing at 6 feet 1. That proves that John Cena may be of the same height, if not, an inch shorter than The Rock.

John Cena apologized to The Rock for judging him for jumping from WWE to Hollywood

During their iconic feud between 2011 and 2013, The Rock and John Cena were battling for supremacy. At the time, The Rock had returned on a part-time deal with WWE, while Cena was still a full-timer. In a storyline, Cena took a jab at The Rock for walking out from WWE for Hollywood.

Fast-forward to a couple of years ahead, John Cena followed in the Rock’s footsteps. Today, the Peacemaker’s lead actor has become a fully-fledged Hollywood actor. Recalling the storyline, Cena admitted to The Gorilla Position in 2018 that he was wrong to judge The Rock.

“I’m sorry and I was wrong. That’s the best thing I can do. […] This is a very tough balancing act and when I called out Dwayne, I called him out because of ignorance”. Stated Cena.
