Nikki Bella and John Cena had a much publicized relationship. The WWE icons were the power couple in the WWE during their time together. However, the Cenation leader was not the first WWE superstar Nikki dated. The former Divas Champion was in a relationship with Dolph Ziggler before the two parted ways. However, her brother-in-law, Daniel Bryan, once believed that she still had some feelings for her old flame and even went so far as to accuse her of cheating on John Cena with The Showoff.

The incident took place on an episode of Total Divas, back in 2016. By then, John Cena and Nikki Bella had already been with each other for almost four years. However, this didn’t stop Bryan from casting an aspersion on his sister-in-law over what he believed was wrong.
Nikki Bella was once accused of cheating on John Cena
Dolph Ziggler was part of a dinner with Nikki Bella and her family. The former couple was sat together. Daniel Bryan was convinced that the two were flirting and shot daggers towards Nikki’s way. Nikki then told the former WWE Champion that she felt like he was giving her dirty looks and asked him why.
Bryan, without skipping a beat, told her that he felt she was cheating on John Cena.
“Because it looks like you’re cheating on John?” Bryan responded. “Because it looks like that”
Bryan’s wife Brie immediately came to her sister’s support. However, her brother was not as supportive and took Bryan’s side of the argument.
Later in the episode, Ziggler can be seen trying to go for a kiss with Nikki Bella, before she reprimanded him for making an advance on her.
“Were you just gonna kiss me? Honestly, I thought more of you,” she told Ziggler.
Did Nikki Bella cheat on John Cena with Artem Chigvintsev?
Nikki Bella and John Cena have since split and are now married with different people. Interestingly, her husband, Artem Chigvintsev, has admitted to falling in love at first sight. The issue here is that they met on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ when the wrestler was still with John Cena.
Speaking on an episode of The Bellas Podcast, he said:
“Nicole might feel a little different—but to me, just the [first] meeting, I think that was the one thing that kind of, like, tricked me out.”
He also revealed calling the executive producer and telling him that he may be in love with her. Interestingly, Nikki felt the complete opposite for her husband and almost thought of quitting the show because of him.
While speaking on the Off the Vine podcast, she said:
“He kind of made a comment about my jive and got really mad at me, and I was like, ‘You know what, dude? J. Lo and Beyoncé don’t jive. I don’t have time for this.’ And I walked out, and I got in my car.”
She recalled calling John Cena, her then fiancé, with some choice words for the man she eventually married.
“I am quitting. I am not going to stand for this. He is a d—!,” was what she says she told Cena.
Safe to say, there was no budding romance between the two until she split with the WWE Icon and moved on with her life.
