WrestleMania season is upon us and the first stop is at The Royal Rumble. The first pay per view of the year will officially begin the road to WrestleMania. Royal Rumble will feature a number of high profile matches that include title matches as well as the Royal Rumble matches. The question on everyone’s mind is the headline act at the much awaited event. It is not known which match will close out the event out of all the potential showstoppers on the card.

Usually, the Royal Rumble is main evented by the titular match. However, there have also been instances where a World Title match features at the very end of the card. The addition of the Women’s Royal Rumble has also added another option to the list of fights that can now headline the show.

Which match will main event the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event?

Apart from the two Royal Rumble matches, the event will also have Roman Reigns defending his title against Kevin Owens. However, the World title match will not close out the show. In fact, it will be the Men’s Royal Rumble.

According to Xero News, there are talks of the men’s Royal Rumble being the event due to Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson making his return at the event. He will reportedly win the match and with it, the opportunity to face his cousin, Roman Reigns, at WrestleMania 39.

The night will end with a showdown between them and the traditional pointing at the Mania logo.

Cody Rhodes announces return at the Royal Rumble

Another name that fans have long seen as a viable candidate to win the Royal Rumble is Cody Rhodes. The American Nightmare has been out with an injury since his Hell in a Cell encounter with Seth Rollins. Many correctly predicted that he would return at the Royal Rumble. However, it was believed that it would be a surprise return.

The WWE, though, began airing Cody Rhodes vignettes that culminated on the recent episode of Monday Night RAW with Rhodes declaring his entry in the Royal Rumble match, dashing all hopes of a surprise return.
