Without a doubt, WWE’s Olympic Champion Kurt Angle was as tough as they come between the ropes. His mastery in the ring was unmatched. Angle won his Olympic Gold Medal with a broken ‘freakin’ neck in 1996. When he made his debut in WWE in 1999, he was immediately pushed as a top talent. Today, the wrestling machine is regarded as one of the greatest wrestlers who ever graced the squared circle. Even other top talents like Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker were taken to the limit by Kurt Angle during the Ruthless Aggression Era.

Following his exit from WWE in 2007, Angle joined TNA and became the face of the company. He ruled the roost in TNA till the very end of his stint. The six-time WWE Champion returned to WWE in 2017 and was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Although Angle’s wrestling days were far behind after his return, he delivered a few good matches before retiring from the ring in 2019. With a nearly two-decade-long career in wrestling, Angle was once approached by Tony Khan’s AEW.

Kurt Angle comments on his possibility of working with AEW

Speaking on The Kurt Angle Show on AdFreeShows.com, Angle was asked if he’d ever work with Tony Khan. Angle stated that Tony Khan was a huge fan of his and that the two had had a couple of conversations in the past discussing Angle’s potential debut in AEW.

Angle also revealed that Tony Khan wished for him to work with AEW as he was one of his favorite wrestlers. While the Olympic Hero thought about joining AEW, he did not want to leave WWE because of his “nostalgia contract” and good relationship with the Stamford-based company.

“I was considering it, but now I have such a solid relationship with the WWE. I have a nostalgia contract with them. I do a lot of programming on TV with WWE. So, I don’t think it’s going to happen, unfortunately, but I’m happy where I am.” Said Angle.

Kurt Angle made a rare appearance two weeks ago on an edition of SmackDown to celebrate his 54th birthday. After he was rudely interrupted by Gable and Otis, fans saw the shades of 2001 milk-o-mania as Angle brought out the milk truck and doused the Alpha Academy with milk.

Kurt Angle thinks Triple H has the best mind for wrestling

At some point during the podcast, Kurt Angle was asked who he thought had the best mind for wrestling. The Hall of Famer heaped praise on Triple H for his love for wrestling. According to him, Triple H is well-educated in all aspects and standpoints of wrestling.

Both men have worked alongside each other and delivered memorable moments in the late attitude era. It’s the years of working together is how Angle is privy to Triple H’s genius mind and love for the business.

Besides Angle, a bunch of other wrestling personalities also appreciate what Triple H had contributed to the business ever since he became the Head of the Creative.

“Triple H is one guy that is so well educated. He loves pro-wrestling like it’s his wife, okay? He cherishes it. He’s really good at it. He has a great mind for it.” Said Angle.
