“Rowdy” Ronda Rousey is a top superstar on WWE’s female roster as the name itself is enough to draw big numbers. In fact, in her short run so far, the company has always kept The Baddest Woman on the Planet in the title picture. Despite fans often expressing dissent over her work, the management sees her as a money-making name. Recently, WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long has also questioned the work ethic of Ronda Rousey. Not just that, he also passed some harsh judgments about the former SmackDown Women’s Champion.
Teddy Long is a name that a hardcore WWE fan will never forget. The Hall of Famer is well-known for his outstanding work as SmackDown’s General Manager between 2004 and 2012.
Recently, while speaking on “WrestleBinge by Sportskeeda“, the veteran gave his honest opinions on various topics. Teddy discussed Charlotte Flair’s return, John Cena’s bald spot, and much more. The 74-year-old veteran also shared how sees the work of The Baddest Woman on the Planet.
Hall of Famer Teddy Long claims Rona Rousey is not a Wrestling Person
During the show, Teddy Long lauded Charlotte Flair who won the SmackDown Women’s Title on her return on December 30. However, the sentiment was not the same for whom she defeated.
Talking about The Baddest Woman on the Planet, Teddy Long recalled one of his WrestleMania meetings with her. The Hall of Famer called Ronda Rousey is a great woman but not a wrestling person. Moreover, he agreed with the host saying Rousey has lost some of her shine and love for the sport over time.
The 74-year-old veteran also thinks Rousey does not take pro wrestling seriously. Instead, when she enters the ring, it’s all about her. The Hall of Famer further stated Ronda Rousey goes into business only for herself. He stated:
“I don’t think she [Ronda Rousey] takes professional wrestling serious… She’s one of the people I think would go into business for themselves.”
The Baddest Woman on the Planet recently lost her championship in a shocking fashion
Up until the start of the last SmackDown of 2022, Ronda Rousey was holding the Women’s Title of Blue Brand. In fact, she successfully defended her belt against Raquel Rodriguez on the show. However, Rousey made a mistake by accepting the challenge of returning Charlotte Flair. And in a surprising manner, she ended up losing the title on the same night.

Nevertheless, despite what Teddy Long and fans say and believe, it seems WWE won’t stop pushing Ronda Rousey. And with WrestleMania 39 coming soon, it’s just a matter of time before she enters another title picture. As of matter of fact, there are reports Rousey alongside Shayna Baszler will now be going to the Women’s Tag Team Titles.
