Shane Mcmahon WWE pay 2022

WWE has been buzzing since the return of its mogul, Vince McMahon. So far, McMahon’s return has caused shockwaves within the system. In the wake of his return, former CO-CEO Stephanie McMahon announced her retirement. Following Stephanie McMahon’s resignation, Vince McMahon was reinstated as the Executive Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors on Tuesday. Nick Khan has remained the sole CEO of WWE, and Triple H is still running the show as the Chief Content Officer. The year 2022 was rather turbulent for Vince McMahon after he was shrouded with controversies.

The WWE patriarch was forced into retirement amidst the Board investigating the infamous “hush money” scandal, wherein McMahon allegedly paid millions of dollars to multiple women to sweep his sexual affairs under the rug. Amidst McMahon’s chaotic return, news has come to light that his son Shane McMahon was paid a significant amount of money for just one appearance on WWE TV last year.

How much did WWE pay Shane McMahon in 2022?

Shane McMahon made sporadic appearances on WWE TV now and then. However, the brevity of his last run earned him a lot of money. Shane was last seen in WWE during the Royal Rumble match in 2022. McMahon was the entrant number 28 in the Rumble.

While McMahon managed to eliminate Kevin Owens, he lasted for about five minutes before being eliminated by Brock Lesnar. Before his appearance in the Rumble, Shane had last competed at WrestleMania 37 in 2021 in a Steel Cage match against Braun Strowman in a losing effort.

His return to the product last year saw him become the backstage producer for the Rumble match. However, he was quietly let go of by the company after he reportedly tried to make the match all about himself.

Due to the infighting between him and Vince McMahon, Shane was unceremoniously released by the company. According to a new WWE SEC filing, Shane McMahon was approximately $828,000 for his time as an independent contractor performer.

“In 2022, Shane McMahon was retained as an independent contractor performer by the Company and received an aggregate of approximately $828,000 in connection with such services,” the filing stated.

Vince McMahon’s return caused two members of the Board of Directors to resign

The new SEC filing also confirmed that two former members of the Board of Directors, Man Jit Singh and Ignace Lahoud, resigned from their positions as they were not on board with Vince McMahon’s return to the company.

Man Jit Singh worked at WWE as the lead independent director, the chairperson of the Compensation and Human Capital  Committee, and a member of the Governance and Nominating Committee. And Lahoud was involved in the Board’s Audit Committee.

“While Messrs. Lahoud and Singh agreed with the Board’s decision to explore the Company’s strategic alternatives, they did not agree with Mr. McMahon’s return at this time,” the filing stated.

The current members of the Board of Directors are Vince, Barrios, Wilson, Nick Khan, Triple H, Steve Koonin, Michelle McKenna, and Steve Pamon. It’s worth noting that Vince McMahon forced Alan Wexler, Jeffrey Speed, and JoEllen Lynos Dillion to resign and brought Barrios and Wilson as replacements.
