Chance encounter at Daytona 500 leaves The Rock “grateful”

Former WWE Champion The Miz is another wrestler who is following in the footsteps of The Rock and John Cena. The A-Lister made his debut in wrestling on the main roster in 2006. The Miz has since achieved quite a lot in his career. He is a multiple-time Tag Team Champion, United States Champion, Intercontinental Champion, and WWE Champion. Aside from winning championships, The Miz is also a former Money in the Bank winner. 2013 marked the first leg of his acting career. After the success of his first movie, The Miz’s acting career took off as he was offered more movie roles in many movies.

The A-Lister now has his reality TV Show “Miz and Mrs” which features the lavish life of him and his wife Maryse. The reality TV show is a spinoff of Total Divas and has so far stretched into three seasons.

Before WWE, The Miz became a familiar face on TV after his appearance on MTV’s Fear Factor hosted by Joe Rogan. The WWE Superstar started his acting career with a spring in his step after years of hard work on WWE TV.

The Miz recalls calling The Rock for advice during the filming of his very first movie

It’s no secret that every pro wrestler dreams of finding a breakthrough from wrestling to acting. The Rock was the first one to successfully do it and ever since his full-time transition into acting, The Brahma Bull became a trailblazer for other wrestlers who are also acting hopefuls. Speaking on Off The Beat With Brian Baumgartner podcast, The Miz recollected how he called The People’s Champ for a piece of advice before his movie shooting. According to him, The Rock’s advice for the Miz was as simple as it was basic which was to be natural.

“I’ll never forget I actually called The Rock; I texted him and I said, ‘Hey, man, I’m about to star in my first movie, getting ready to do my first scene. Is there any advice you can give me?”

“You can’t look at the spot, and you have to be normal and natural when its action and you have to just make it feel [natural],” advised The Rock.

The Rock also instructed The Miz to not look at the focus spot on the lens and that there were multiple cameras in play. Taking The Rock’s advice, The Miz’s Marine 3 became a huge hit and the former WWE Champion bagged many more roles following the release of his film. His natural acting skills helped him earn roles in The Marine sequels and Christmas Bounty.

Is there a backstage heat between The Miz and Triple H

Ever since Triple H rose to power as the new Head of Creative, The Miz’s in-ring career isn’t looking as good as it once was. Speaking on Sportkeeda’s Legion of Raw, former WWE head writer Vince Russo stated that The Miz is reduced to a jobber after Triple assumed control of the Creative and that there is a real heat between the two. According to Russo, The Miz is not being booked properly by The Game.

I know Miz was on the MTV show. I wasn’t even watching wrestling when Miz broke into the business but I can promise you, something went down between him and Triple H,” said Russo

The Miz is currently involved in a seemingly endless rivalry with Dexter Lumis and Johnny Gargano. Now it seems that The Miz’s career in WWE is being held from moving forward under Triple H’s regime. It remains to be seen if the heat between the duo further develops.
