Xavi To Barcelona: Xavi refuses to take the managerial role at Barcelona, the club board agrees to negotiate with him June.

Xavi Hernandez in the recent reports since the past few days was speculated to join Barcelona to replace Ernesto Valverde as the manager of the Catalan Club.

But in the recent turn of events, ESPN has claimed that Barcelona and Xavi have decided to resume the negotiations in June. This comes after several reports stated that the former Barcelona player refused to take up the role in the middle of the season.

Xavi became the prime candidate to take up the responsibility of Barcelona’s squad after reports came out that his ex-teammate and now Director of football at the club Eric Abidal flown to Doha to start the talks with him.

At the same time, Barcelona was playing against Atletico Madrid in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for the Supercopa title. The board at the club has also probably decided that it is best to part away with Valverde amidst his underwhelming results with the squad.

The fans are quite unhappy with Valverde’s tactics and decisions and have raised the demand for his removal as the manager of the club since a significant period of time.

However, Xavi refusing to join the club comes as a shock to the fans as they continue to see Valverde as their manager for now. Whereas the former Spanish International is regarded to be the future manager of the club for years and it was predictable that he will return to his boyhood club one day.

Now it remains to be seen what Barcelona will do if Valverde continues to perform at the level which is expected by the club, An option of promoting Francisco Pimienta as the first team manager temporarily.
