There was huge excitement in the WWE Universe about the reunion of the Shield at TLC. However, the grand plans seems to have gone awry with Roman Reigns contracting a meningitis virus. As a quick damage repair, WWE have inserted Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle into the match. However, we believe that these are the 3 superstars who should have replaced Reigns at TLC!
1. John Cena
John Cena would have been the perfect replacement for Reigns in this match. Considering their recent feud fresh in the minds of the audience, his role would have had a greater impact than a returning Kurt Angle.
Moreover, Cena’s presence would have negated the ‘ring rust’ factor that Kurt Angle might bring about. Cena could have also used this spot to prove a point to Reigns that he is still the top guy in the WWE. Hence, he could have better replaced Reigns at TLC than Kurt Angle.
2. AJ Styles
AJ Styles has been put into a dream match with Bullet Club counterpart, Finn Balor. This is due to Bray Wyatt getting infected with meningitis just like Roman Reigns. Even though this is a blockbuster match, AJ Styles could have been a good replacement for Reigns too.

Arguably the top 3 heroes in the WWE right now, Styles, Reigns and Ambrose would have formed a formidable team. This pairing would have made much better sense than inserting Kurt Angle suddenly out of the blue!
3. Samoa Joe
Monday Night Raw has missed the services of Samoa Joe recently. Out with an injury, reports suggest that Joe is ready to make a return anytime. Although a heel, there are reports of him feuding with Braun Strowman soon. So, what better platform than TLC to plant the seeds of this potential feud of epic proportions!
Bringing back Samoa Joe as a face would have also been a great swerve considering his popularity. WWE seemed to have missed a trick by choosing Kurt Angle over Samoa Joe. Even though Kurt has been amongst the action in other promotions, one wonders if this inclusion will backfire on the WWE!
Reigns pulls out, Kurt Angle roped in
The Hounds of Justice were scheduled to take on The Miz, Cesaro, Sheamus, Braun Strowman and Kane at TLC. This 5 on 3 match was booked as the main event until Reigns had to pulled out due to a bug. Consequently, Kurt Angle will return to the WWE ring after a hiatus of 11 years to fill on the Big Dog’s shoes.
Even though Kurt Angle returning to a WWE ring is a massive draw, we are sceptical of how it will turn out. Hopefully, he pulls off a memorable return just like he has pulled off several legendary matches in the past. Oh its true! Its damn true!
