Roman Reigns is not on the card for the upcoming Premium Live Event, Backlash. After retaining his World Titles against Cody Rhodes, The Tribal Chief is currently without a challenger. The recent developments during the WWE Draft indicated that Cody Rhodes will not pursue Roman Reigns for now. Another report has come to light, revealing Roman Reigns’ next opponent. According to the report, AJ Styles will wage war against Roman Reigns once again.
AJ Styles and Roman Reigns are no strangers to each other. The duo collided multiple times during Roman Reigns’ “The Big Dog” gimmick.
In fact, Styles faced The Tribal Chief last year at the WWE house show, Saturday Night Main Event. Despite Styles’ great efforts, Roman Reigns beat him clean and retained the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship.
AJ Styles will reportedly re-ignite his feud with Roman Reigns
Xero News reports that AJ Styles will pick up where he left off with Roman Reigns. The Phenomenal One was Drafted to SmackDown with the OC on the latest edition of SmackDown.
Since the “Island of Relevancy” continues to reside on the Blue brand, AJ Styles has a good chance to re-ignite his feud with Roman Reigns. With the Night of Champions PLE fast approaching, Roman Reigns will most likely defend his Championships against AJ Styles.
Although both athletes had a title match in 2022, their last televised match took place at Extreme Rules in 2016. Roman Reigns emerged victorious and retained his WWW World Heavyweight Championship.
It should be noted that AJ Styles made his return after healing from an ankle injury. Styles had been MIA since December 2022. With AJ Styles being Roman Reigns’ next potential opponent, the former has a major score to settle with the Head of the Table.
WWE is reportedly going to produce new Roman Reigns merchandise soon
Though Roman Reigns is not scheduled to be in Puerto Rico at Backlash, he will be present at Night of Champions in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Interestingly, Night of Champions will also mark Roman Reigns’ 1000th day as the Universal Champion.
Xero News reports that Roman Reigns’ new merchandise with “1000 Day” branding will be in the works soon. The merch will seemingly be in-store after the Night of Champions.
