Quinton de Kock run out vs Australia: De Kock pulled off an unbelievable MS Dhoni kind of a run out to dismiss Marcus Stoinis at Old Trafford
During the 45th match of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup match between Australia and South Africa at The Old Trafford Stadium, Manchester, the Proteas wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock pulled off an MS Dhoni style of a ‘no-look’ run out to send the Aussie all-rounder Marcus Stoinis back in the pavilion.
It all happened on the third delivery of the 19th over. The Proteas leg-spinner Imran Tahir, who was playing his last match in South African colours, bowled his stock delivery on David Warner’s pads. Warner, without any trouble played it towards Kagiso Rabada at short square-leg.

Stoinis, on the other end responded to Warner’s anticipation for a quick single and set off real quick. But, Rabada made the ground real quick and threw the ball while diving in motion towards de Kock.
The moment of magic then came from De Kock’s side. The 26-year-old, deflected the ball accurately with a back-flick off his gloves without even looking at the stumps to hit them bull’s eye, similar to what MS Dhoni is popular with in contemporary times.
De Kock’s fellow mates went berserk
De Kock’s brilliant glove work made his fellow Proteas mates go berserk, as he had pulled -off a dextrous display of street smart thought process near the stumps. In fact, his wicket was instrumental in South Africa’s 10-run eventual victory in the end.

With the loss, Australia eventually finish second in the points table, and would face England in the second semi-final that will take place on July 11 at Birmingham.
India, on the other hand, with a convincing 7-wicket victory versus Sri Lanka at Headingley finished the league stage at the summit. They will now face New Zealand in the first semi-final on July 9 at Manchester.
