WATCH: Sanjay Manjrekar apologizes to Ravindra Jadeja for his ‘bits and pieces’ remark
Sanjay Manjrekar apologizes to Ravindra Jadeja: Former Indian cricketer was seen admitting his wrong judgement at Old Trafford.
Bringing an end to the “bits and pieces” controversy, former India cricketer eventually admitted to India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja’s “sheer brilliance” after India’s exit from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in Manchester yesterday.
Speaking after the match got over, Manjrekar funnily accused Jadeja of “ripping him apart”. While Manjrekar confessed that Jadeja proved him wrong with his all-round performance, he also mentioned that such an innings has come after a significant period.
“By bits and by pieces of sheer brilliance, he [Ravindra Jadeja] just ripped me apart today. Just proved me wrong on all fronts. But this is the Ravindra Jadeja we haven’t seen very often.

“In his last 40 [30] innings, his highest score has been around 33 [vs West Indies at Kochi in 2014]. Today he was brilliant today, economical with the ball. And that familiar celebration that you see more in Test matches,” Manjrekar was quoted as saying.
The familiar celebration which Manjrekar mentioned saw Jadeja swinging his bat like a sword after completing his 11th ODI half-century. The southpaw soon gestured towards the media box perhaps looking for Manjrekar. Being asked about if Jadeja was looking for him, Manjrekar answered in a hysterical manner.
“Forgive me, I wasn’t there. I have to apologize [to Ravindra Jadeja], he was looking for me. The star of today was looking for me but I wasn’t there. I was in the lounge taking my lunch [laughs], I’m so sorry,” Manjrekar said.
