The full back played in 114 games over four seasons for the spurs after arriving from Burnley. Trippier had a fantastic world cup last year. However, he failed to bring that form back to the EPL. With his form dipping, he admitted towards the end of last season that he was unsure of his future at the club. However, Atletico see great value in him and have purchased Trippier with the faith that he will replace Juanfran.
Los Colchoneros posted the following statement on their website:
“Kieran Trippier is a new Red & White player. Atlético de Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement over the transfer of the full-back, who has signed a three-year contract.”
“With this signing, we add to our team a fantastic and experienced player who comes to us from the Champions League runners-up.”
