Lewis McManus run-out: Watch Hampshire wicket-keeper runs out Sussex’s Laurie Evans in bizarre fashion
Lewis McManus run-out: The ongoing season of the Vitality Blast witnessed a strange run-out during Sussex vs Hampshire match at Hove.
During the ongoing South Group season of the Vitality Blast, a match between Sussex and Hampshire at Hove witnessed a strange run-out. While Sussex batsman Laurie Evans became the victim, he couldn’t believe his luck with respect to getting out in such a manner.
It all happened on the second delivery of the 10th over when Evans was completely deceived by a Mason Crane delivery. Unaware of where the ball had gone after beating him, Evans showed his interest in sneaking a run.
Evans’ attempt to sneak a run didn’t go unnoticed by Hampshire wicket-keeper Lewis McManus as his awareness aided him to successfully affect a run-out. Evans, who came in to bat at No. 3 in the sixth over, ended up scoring 15 (12) with the help of a couple of fours.
After Hampshire captain James Vince won the toss and put Sussex in to bat, the hosts posted a handsome 188/6 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Opening batsman Philip Salt scored his fifth T20 half-century to top score for his team. The right-hand batsman scored 73 (46) with the help of seven fours and three sixes. With bowling figures of 4-0-30-2, Chris Wood was the pick of the bowlers for Hampshire.
Left-arm fast bowler Reece Topley’s bowling figures of 4-0-33-4 played a vital role in the home team restricting the visitors at 174/10 in 19 overs.
For Hampshire, opening batsman Rilee Rossouw top-scored with 60 (50) with the help of eight fours and a six. Other than affecting an uncommon run-out, McManus also chipped with a quickfire 32 (15) with the help of a four and three sixes.
