Virat Kohli celebration vs West Indies: Watch Indian captain’s ‘signal towards name’ celebration post 42nd ODI century
Virat Kohli celebration vs West Indies: The Indian captain put on display a worth-watching celebration after scoring his century.
During the second ODI of the ongoing India’s tour of West Indies at Port of Spain, India captain Virat Kohli registered his 42nd ODI century to once again enter into a zone which he is usually known for in this format.
The right-hand batsman didn’t let opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan (2) getting out in the first over itself affect the batting lineup. Kohli joined hands with his deputy Rohit Sharma to share a 74-run partnership for the second wicket.
Having given early signs of posting a big score today, Kohli didn’t let his start go away as he successfully converted it into a magnificent century. With India losing Sharma (18) and wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant (20) in the middle overs, it was important for Kohli to play an anchoring innings.
Kohli then shared a 125-run partnership with Shreyas Iyer for the fourth wicket to put India in a formidable position. On the last delivery of the 15th over, Kohli edged a Carlos Brathwaite delivery to find a boundary through the third-man region.
While the shot saw him crossing the 50-run mark, Kohli completed his century in the 37th over when he drove West Indies captain Jason Holder to long-on for a single. Before getting out in the 42nd over during an attempt to up the ante off West Indies all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite, Kohli scored 120 (125) with the help of 14 fours and a six.
