Twitter erupts as PV Sindhu beats Carolina Marin to clinch her first India Open Title
PV Sindhu put a near perfect display of badminton to brush aside the Olympic Champion, Carolina Marin in straight sets(21-19, 21-16) in the final of the India Open Super Series.
Ever since winning the silver medal in the Rio Olympic games, Sindhu has been creating waves across the Badminton circuit, beating top players and going deep into every tournament she plays. But it seemed as if tonight was going to be that definitive game in her career, having experienced the Olympic triumph and now looking to cement herself as probably the best player in the world. Marin, with her all round gameplay was always going to be a tough nut to crack, but with the way Sindhu was playing in the tournament and how she beat Marin in Dubai last December, it just seemed as if Sindhu had it all figured out.
And as soon as she stepped out on court, Sindhu made everyone feel that she belonged there, the occasion was hers and everything was about to fall into place. She oozed of confidence, there was this air of supremacy and all of it just translated into her wonderful performance on court.

She dominated Marin all through, not allowing the Olympic Champion to get back into the encounter at any point, something which she wasn’t able to do in the Olympic final.
It’s a wonderful victory for Sindhu and she will be hoping that this victory could pave way for greater things in her career. It was a wonderful night for everyone who turned up at the Siri Fort Stadium and for the millions who were cheering for their hero on Television.
