India beat Pakistan to enter U-18 Asia Cup hockey final

A big match today, as India face Canada in the Hockey World Cup Semi Final. The stakes are high in this match, as Canada require a win to qualify for the 2018 Hockey World Cup. India are fresh off another thrashing of Pakistan, and will be looking to win another match.

The match was off to a cracking start, as Canada took the lead within two minutes. G Johnston gives Canada the lead after a very good start for his team.

India equalizes immediately, as Harmanpreet Singh scores a superb goal from the penalty corner. It has been a sensational start for the game so far.

It was a frenetic start which saw both teams go level at the end of the first quarter.

India won a series of penalty corners to start off the second quarter. India piled on the pressure as they looked to get the lead at the beginning of the second quarter.

And the pressure paid off as Harmanpreet scored another one to give India the lead.

And then Richard Hildreth got a Green card, as Canada went down to ten men against India. The momentum seemed to be with India as Canada looked bereft of ideas.

And India went into the half time with the lead.

India changed their keeper at the start of the third quarter with Akash Chitke now the guardian between the sticks.

Canada the fought back as Keegan Pereira equalized for the Canadians.

And then they took the lead, as Canada took the lead as they led India 3-2 at the end of the third quarter.

Entering the final quarter, India knew that they had to start well if they wanted any chance to win the match. But the Canadian keeper made some incredible saves to keep his team in the game.

Ho Garcia received a Green card, as India tried to level things up against a 10 man Canada side for ten minutes.
