Jasprit Bumrah hat-trick vs West Indies: Watch Bumrah becomes third Indian bowler to grab Test hat-trick
Jasprit Bumrah hat-trick vs West Indies: There was no stopping the Indian fast on the second day of the second Test in Jamaica.
During the second day of the second Test of the ongoing India’s tour of West Indies in Jamaica, India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah became the third Indian bowler (after Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan) to grab a hat-trick in Test matches.
Bumrah, who registered bowling figures of 8-4-7-5 in the first Test in Antigua, continued from where he left. Opening the bowling with Ishant Sharma, a change of ends saw Bumrah making early inroads into West Indies’ batting lineup.
Having dismissed John Campbell (2) in the seventh over, Bumrah ended up dismissing as many as three batsmen in his next over. On the second delivery of the ninth over, Darren Bravo (4) edged a Bumrah delivery to Lokesh Rahul at second slip.
Shamarh Brooks, who made his Test debut in Antigua, became the next batsman to be dismissed as he was found wanting in front of the stumps on the first ball that he faced. In what looked like a desperate move, Brooks opting for a review saw his team losing one as early as the ninth over.
In what was a promotion in the batting order, West Indies had sent all-rounder Roston Chase at No. 5. With another in-swinging delivery from Bumrah hitting the batsman on his pads, it called for a loud appeal only to be turned down by the umpire.
That being said, it was a smart review from India captain Virat Kohli which handed Bumrah his firs hat-trick in Test matches.
