Anushka Sharma accompanies Virat Kohli: The star couple was witnessed at the renaming ceremony of the iconic stadium.

Among the plentiful records which he has to his name, India captain Virat Kohli added another accolade in the form of entering a rare list of active cricketers who have a stand named after them in a cricket stadium.

The ceremony was slated to take place alongside the renaming ceremony of the iconic Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in Delhi. The stadium has been renamed after former Finance Minister of India and President of DDCA (Delhi & Districts Cricket Association) Arun Jaitley.

It was after Jaitley’s unfortunate demise that DDCA President Rajat Sharma had announced the development. While Home Minister Amit Shah was the chief guest, Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju was the Guest of Honour for the ceremony.

Speaking during the event, Kohli was short of words after receiving the honour. “Never thought I would be honoured at such a grand scale. Don’t know how to address this as my family, wife, brother, sister-in-law are here,” Kohli said.

Photos of Kohli and wife Anushka Sharma had gone viral after they were posted on the official Twitter handle of ANI. In another video which is doing the rounds across social media platforms is the pair holding hands during the function.

Having recently won across formats during the tour of West Indies, Kohli will now lead the Indian cricket team in a three-match T20I series against South Africa at home.
