South African fielders clueless as ball gets lost: Hilarious scenes were witnessed in the second session of Day 2 in Visakhapatnam.

During the second day of the first Test of the ongoing South Africa’s tour of India in Visakhapatnam, hilarious scenes were witnessed on the ground after South African bowlers lost sight of the ball.

The penultimate delivery of the 129th over went for four byes as South Africa spinner Keshav Maharaj’s delivery turned to the extent that it was out of wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock’s reach.

Assuming that the ball had gone past the boundary ropes into the covers, the South African fielders started the search operation towards the other side of the ground.

It was only after a significant period that the cameraman zoomed in to find that the ball was stuck between the boundary ropes. By the time, South African reserve players and an additional cameraman had also joined their fielders in the search operation.

It was eventually South Africa opening batsman Aiden Markram who spotted the ball on the big screen. Having played the rescue act, Markan was seen suggesting to the fielders that the ball has been found.

After India captain Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to bat, the hosts posted a brilliant 502/7 dec. in 136 overs. Opening batsmen in Mayank Agarwal (215) and Rohit Sharma (176) had stitched a 317-run partnership to provide a formidable start to their team.

With bowling figures of 55-6-189-3, Maharaj was the pick of the South African bowlers.
