Tendulkar on Dhoni's T20I omission

Tendulkar on Dhoni’s T20I omission: Legendary batsman was recently vocal about Dhoni being dropped from the T20I team.

It has been a week today since former India captain and current wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni was dropped from India’s T20I squad for the series against Windies and Australia.

Such is the stature and the impact of this news that opinions on the same are coming till today. The fact that apart from Dhoni’s fans, former cricketers are also questioning the decision speaks highly about the 37-year old cricketer.

From former cricketers such as Sourav Ganguly, Zaheer Khan, Ajay Jadeja and Vinod Kambli to current captain of the Indian team in Virat Kohli, all of them have expressed their point of views on the the recent development in the Indian team.

Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar has also joining the list of these former cricketers now. In a recent interview with ANI, Tendulkar questioned the mindset of the selectors behind this decision.

“I don’t know what’s the mindset of the selectors is and I haven’t looked to influence anyone by giving opinions as what happens in dressing room & between captain, coach & selectors should stay within themWhatever they are planning whatever decisions are taken should be in the best interest in the nation,” he was quoted.

After the T20I series against Windies at home, India will travel to Australia for a full tour later this month. On being asked about India’s prospects against the Aussies, Tendulkar was affirmative, stating this as India’s ‘best chance’ in Australia.

“Possibly our best chance to go out there and beat them. If you see the Australia teams in the past and compare them to this one, yes we have a perfect chance,” 45-year old Tendulkar added.
