The first Test of the ongoing Bangladesh’s tour of India will be played tomorrow at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. The first of the two-Test series will be the visiting team’s first match in the inaugural ICC World Test Championship.

With India winning the T20I series 2-1, they would be looking to carry forward the momentum to the Test series now. Been the only team to win all its matches in the Test Championship, India will also be high on confidence.

With these two Tests being India’s last before their next Test series in New Zealand, the hosts would surely be eyeing another 120 points by the end of this month.

Out of the nine Test matches which both these nations have played against each other, this will only be the second one in India. The last time that these teams played a Test against each other was in 2017 in Hyderabad.

After India captain Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to bat, India had posted a mammoth 687/6 dec. in 166 overs on the back of individual centuries from Kohli (204) opening batsman Murali Vijay (108) and wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha (106*).

The then Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim’s gritty 127 (262) gave some meat to the Bangladeshi innings but Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja picking four wickets each in the fourth innings saw India winning the match by 208 runs.
