Led by Iyer and Pant’s fighting fifties, India put on 287/8 on the board. However, the score was easily chased down by West Indies with 13 balls to spare. Shai Hope and Shimron Hetmeyer registered contrasting centuries to help West Indies to a lead in the 3-match series.
Hetmeyer was named man of the match for his explosive 139 of 106 balls. His aggressive knock allowed Hope to hold one end without being burdened by the asking rate. The sides will now travel to Visakhapatnam where India will look to keep the series alive while the West Indies will attempt to bring the series to an early close.
