Alex Carey in IPL 2020: Watch Delhi Capitals wicket-keeper batsman’s cover drives goes for six in BBL 2019 match
Alex Carey in IPL 2020: Delhi Capitals’ recent buy has been among the runs in the ongoing Big Bash League in Australia.
During the 10th match of the ongoing ninth season of the Big Bash League between Adelaide Strikers and Perth Scorchers in Adelaide, Adelaide Strikers captain Alex Carey scored his eighth T20 half-century to power his team to 198/4 in their allotted quota of 18 overs.
Coming in to bat at No. 4 in the 10th over, Carey punished the visiting bowlers by scoring 55* (24) with the help of eight fours and a couple of sixes.
Having scored 100 runs in two matches so far, the southpaw is at the seventh position in the list of highest run-scorers in the tournament. Recently bought by Delhi Capitals at his base price of INR 50 lakh for his maiden stint in the Indian Premier League, Carey would be hoping to bring his rich form in the cash-rich league.
Among the many awe-inspiring shots which Carey hit today, the pinnacle of his innings came when he his Perth all-rounder Ashton Agar for two sixes over cover with minimal effort in the same over.
Apart from Carey, it was a Man of the Match performance from Strikers opening batsman Jake Weatherald who smashed 83 (47) with the help of 10 fours and three sixes.
Despite Scorchers opening batsmen Josh Inglis (50) and Liam Livingstone (69) joining hands for a quickfire 124-run opening partnership, the visitors ended up losing the match by 15 runs.

Alex Carey has lapped every other wicketkeeper/batsman in the country (Philippe 2nd).
His short form stroke play is sublime, and cool head on his shoulders is the icing on the cake.
His time in the baggy green can’t come soon enough.#BBL09 @7Cricket
