Tom Andrews’ ankle-length delivery dismisses Josh Philippe: The Sixers’ batsman got dismissed in an unfortunate manner.

During the 18th match of the ongoing ninth season of the Big Bash League between Melbourne Renegades and Sydney Sixers in Melbourne, Sydney Sixers wicket-keeper batsman Josh Philippe got out to Melbourne Renegades spinner Tom Andrews in an unfortunate manner.

It all happened on the first delivery of the 10th over when Andrews was introduced into the attack for the first time. In what was a short delivery, the batsman was correct in his judgement to pull the ball.

However, minimal bounce on the delivery saw it passing Philippe at a height close to his ankle. Having missed the ball altogether, Philippe was in a shocking state after watching the ball hit the stumps.

Opening the batting with Daniel Hughes (40), Philippe ended up scoring 33 (30) with the help of one four and six each. Having broken the 70-run opening stand, Andrews found Sixers captain Moises Henriques (0) plumb in front of the wickets in his next over.

Despite losing three wickets in as many overs in the middle overs, the visitors sealed a 154-run chase on the penultimate delivery of the match. Coming in to bat at No. 3, James Vince top-scored for Sydney with his 41 (26) with the help of three fours and a six.

After Renegades captain Aaron Finch won the toss and chose to bat, the hosts posted 153/6 in 20 overs on the back of all-rounder Daniel Christian scoring 32* (17) with the help of three fours and a six. With bowling figures of 4-0-22-2, Sydney spinner Lloyd Pope was the pick of their bowlers.
