WATCH: Sandeep Lamichhane and Seb Gotch hilariously misjudge Moises Henriques’ six in Sixers vs Stars BBL match
Sandeep Lamichhane and Seb Gotch hilariously misjudge: The Stars’ duo were left watching the ball sail into the boundary.
During the 45th match of the ongoing ninth season of the Big Bash League between Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Stars in Sydney, Melbourne Stars spinner Sandeep Lamichhane and wicket-keeper Seb Gotch were left looking in the air as the ball sailed into the boundary for a surprising six.
It all happened on the last delivery of the ninth over when Sydney captain Moises Henriques top-edged a Lance Morris delivery high into the air. While it seemed at first that one out of Lamichhane and Gotch would catch the ball, it wasn’t to be as the ball surprisingly went over the fine-leg boundary.
After Stars captain Glenn Maxwell won the toss and invited the hosts in to bat, rain started to play spoilsport in he fourth over. As a result, the match was reduced to a 14-over encounter.
It was a potentially match-winning 114-run partnership for the third wicket between James Vince (41*) and Henriques which saw Sixers scoring 143/4 in 14 overs.
Coming in to bat at No. 5 in the sixth over, Henriques scored a whirlwind 18th T20 half-century. Before getting out in the last over, Henriques ended up scoring 72 (31) with the help of two fours and eight sixes.
