Watch: Jimmy Neesham got retire hurt after reverse sweep mishap in NewZealand A game
Watch: Jimmy Neesham retires hurt after striking the bat on his face while making a reverse sweep during a Newzealand-A game.
As Newzealand faced India in the first T20I game, as the senior squads from both sides competed against each other. Newzealand-A and India-A also were involved in an exciting contest.
However, amidst the cricket fiesta, Jimmy Neesham was not lucky enough to enjoy it, even though he was playing for Newzealand-A, as the Kiwi player got retired hurt after hurting himself while attempting a reverse sweep shot in the match against India-A.
The hit forced him to undergo a head assessment before returning to the crease. Neesham immediately pointed out how hard he got hurt by the bowler.
He even uploaded the picture on Twitter with a quirky caption which read, “Got fixed up good today! Lesson: don’t reverse sweep up into your own face.” The cut looked deep as his fans showed concern and also made some jokes about the blunder.

Meanwhile, Newzealand-A won against the Indian side, even though the main team failed to do the same in the T20 fixture. None of the India-A batsmen could play an inning which was needed to assure a win.
The top order of the Indian team crumbled soon enough and did not provide stability to the innings. Krunal Pandya scored a half-century to make an effort but all of it went onto be waste as India-A lost the match.
There are doubts over Neesham making an appearance in the next match going to be played on Sunday. Presently, the series is at a draw as Newzealand levelled the series’ with their victory. India won the first match played at the Oval.
