Last night was all about Ben Stokes. The Englishman ensured that the struggling RPS outfit were able to script a brilliant comeback to virtually knockout the Lions from the tournament. Coming in at 10 for 3, the onus was on Stokes to prove his million dollar worth, and lead his side to victory in dire circumstances. MSD and Stokes went about their business in a measured way, soaking in the pressure, assessing the situation, taking the game deep and setting themselves up for that late launch. MSD departed in an attempt to break free, which made Stokes’ innings even more special, as in the end he had to do all on his own.

103 in a chase of 160 odd reflects how Stokes single handedly won RPS the game.

In the afternoon game RCB suffered another loss, but thankfully their performance had some spine to it. With 160 on the board, the RCB bowlers took the game deep, but Rohit Sharma’s brilliance in the middle order wiped off that tiny array of hope that RCB had of making it to the playoffs.

Delhi Daredevils vs Sunrisers Hyderabad

Both these teams come into this contest with very contrasting results in their last games. DD channeled their inner RCB to be bundled out for a meagre 67. The young Indian talent has been shouldering a lot of responsibility this season, but it always felt like the bubble was about to burst, and burst it did.

You can’t expect youngster who don’t have much international experience to continuously feature in the top 4 and provide you with results. Not to mention, their overseas stars too have been guilty of not standing up to the task. DD need to sort things out quickly or else they could be out of the playoff race sooner than they would have imagined.

SRH are having a fairytale run. It’s all seeming to come good for them. Warner’s only concern would be the fairly untested SRH middle order. Whenever the onus has come on the middle order to win them a game, they haven’t really been able to do that. Yuvraj’s form with the bat could be a cause of concern, but you could argue that he hasn’t really got the opportunity to make a significant impact until now. SRH fans would be hoping that the opportunity doesn’t arise anytime soon.

Let’s get to business now!
